Workflow
What is the ideal workflow to work with Chiseled Images?
I created Chiseled Images to relieve the burden from photographers who want to enjoy their life as professional photographers and studio owners. Many owners never realize how much time they are taking for even simple task like color correction, exporting jpegs, running retouch filters, retouching, ordering, etc. So the ideal workflow for me is to send over as much of those tasks as you want to free your time and help you to bring in more money.
Here is my view of how you can utilize Chiseled Images to the fullest:
1) YOU shoot the session (sorry, but I can't do that part for you too :) )
2) YOU download and backup your images. During this you send me the RAW
files.
3) I color correct, tonal, all that. Create JPEG low res proofs and run a pretouch filter as needed to prepare these for proofing.
4) I send those proofs back to you to use in ProSelect or your viewing
software
5) YOU send in your clients order to me
6) I retouch the images to your standards
7) I order the prints through the lab of your choice
8) YOU deliver beautiful prints to your clients and enjoy your night and
weekend
9) WE BOTH live happily ever after :)
How do I send my images?
I have several options for you sending images both electronically (best for 1 or 2 gigs of images) and via snail mail (best for large amounts of images). Click here to see all the options described in detail.
I just need something quick, can you do that for me?
Sure. I can take care of your entire workflow, just color correcting a session, retouching one image, or even just taking the tree out of grandma's head.
You seem to do a lot of different things, what is your goal?
My goal is to become your complete workflow solution. An invisible partner if you will. Any back-end service you need to run your studio, I want to be able to help with that. Eventually training a team of consultants and image artist who can make photography fun again for everyone out there.
Retouching
How much retouching do you do?
I do as little or as much you want me to do. Some photographers like very candid and only a few minor things touched up, where as others may want skin to look smooth as a Barbie doll. Most people want in-between. My personal preference is to retouch an image to where it looks great and the person viewing the image will only notice how beautiful the print is and not how great the retouching is. I really try to focus on your style. So we will work together till my retouching matches how you would do it yourself. I really want it to feel like I'm your invisible partner in your studio.
What is your turnaround time?
Well that's according to the job. Typical turnaround time for retouching and color correcting is a two days. However if you send me a wedding of 1000 images or 30 images that need a fair amount of retouching, then it will typically take a few days. I am aware that right now I am a one man show. I also want you to know that I know that. Meaning I really focus on managing my time and workload. If for any reason I think that I am getting backed up, I will always be upfront an honest. If it's an emergency type situation and for some reason I cannot fulfill it, I will make sure you have a way to get it taken care of.

Color Correction
What is your turnaround time?

However if you send me a wedding of 1000 images or 30 images that need a fair amount of retouching, then it will typically take a few days. I am aware that right now I am a one man show. I also want you to know that I know that. Meaning I really focus on managing my time and workload. If for any reason I think that I am getting backed up, I will always be upfront an honest. If it's an emergency type situation and for some reason I cannot fulfill it, I will make sure you have a way to get it taken care of.
How much are your color correction services?

I mostly focus on Facebook since that is the place to market in the social media world. However I can also help you with custom Twitter backgrounds, or setting up any other service you might need.

Do I get a discount for sending a lot of images?

What is the best way to contact you?
Honestly email is typically the quickest right now. However feel free to call me at 803.250.5312 and leave a message if I don't answer. I think that personal contact is vital to establishing a relationship and would love to speak with everyone on the phone at least one or two times.
Do you really enjoy sitting behind a computer all day?
Love it. I find much more joy spending my day in the digital darkroom than I do behind the camera.
If you are a one man show, what happens if you go on vacation or get sick?
Great question. I want everyone to know that I know that I am a one man show. Meaning that I understand there might be limitations or hesitations with working with me. However I do everything I can for you to not ever think about that. If I am on vacation I have a mobile workstation that I can bring along to complete all my jobs. If I am sick, then I will to the best of my ability make sure I complete your work. If for some reason I am unable to complete something that you need in an emergency, then I will make sure that I find someone or put you in contact with someone to make sure you get taken care of.
Do you offer referral discounts?
Yes. Until the end of September you will receive a $50 credit for any service for every 3 people you refer and that decide to work with me (meaning they go beyond just sending sample images and complete at least one full order).
